Spooky Mummy Hot Dogs with Spider Web Mustard

Spooky Mummy Hot Dogs - featured image

A fun and spooky Halloween party snack featuring hot dogs wrapped in biscuit dough with a crispy spider web of yellow mustard and seed eyes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8–10 standard beef, pork, or turkey hot dogs
  • 1 tube (8-10 count) large refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash, optional)
  • Poppy seeds or sesame seeds (for eyes)
  • Yellow mustard (for spider web)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Unroll the biscuit dough and separate the biscuits. If dough is too warm, chill for 5 minutes.
  4. Flatten each biscuit slightly and place a hot dog in the center.
  5. Pull the dough edges up and over the hot dog, leaving ends exposed. Pinch the bottom to seal.
  6. Place wrapped hot dogs on the baking sheet, leaving 1 inch of space between each.
  7. Pipe thin lines of yellow mustard across the top of each mummy in a crisscross pattern to create a spider web.
  8. Place two poppy seeds or sesame seeds on each mummy near the top for eyes.
  9. Brush with egg wash if desired.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes until dough is golden brown and puffy.
  11. Cool for 2-3 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

Ensure the dough is sealed at the bottom to prevent hot dogs from slipping out. Use fresh yellow mustard for best texture and color. If using crescent rolls, seams may open up, so biscuit dough is recommended. Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated for up to 24 hours before baking.
