These Quick Turkey and Cheese Lunchbox Roll-Ups are a simple, kid-approved lunchbox solution that comes together in 5 minutes. Cream cheese acts as glue to hold everything together, making them reliable, customizable, and perfect for busy mornings.

Ingredients

  • Flour tortillas (8-inch)
  • Cream cheese (2 tablespoons per wrap)
  • Sliced turkey (3-4 slices per wrap)
  • Cheddar cheese (1 slice per wrap)
  • Optional: mayonnaise, mustard, lettuce

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese by letting it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes or microwaving for 5 seconds at 50% power.
  2. Lay a flour tortilla flat on a cutting board. If cold, warm for 10 seconds in the microwave.
  3. Spread 2 tablespoons of softened cream cheese evenly over the entire surface of the tortilla, going all the way to the edges.
  4. Place 3 to 4 slices of turkey in a single overlapping layer over the cream cheese.
  5. Lay one slice of cheddar cheese on top of the turkey, covering most of the center area.
  6. Starting from one edge, roll the tortilla as tightly as possible without tearing, using even pressure.
  7. Press down gently on the seam to seal it with the cream cheese.
  8. Optional: Wrap the roll in plastic wrap and chill for 10 minutes for cleaner slicing.
  9. Using a sharp chef’s knife, slice the roll into 1-inch pieces (about 6 to 8 pieces per roll).
  10. If packing for lunch, insert a toothpick through each piece to prevent unraveling.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature cream cheese to avoid tearing the tortilla. Warm tortillas if they are cold to prevent cracking. Chill the roll for 10 minutes before slicing for cleaner cuts. Pack with an ice pack to keep roll-ups fresh in lunchboxes. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Freeze unsliced rolls for up to 1 month.
