Ingredients

Scale
  • Mini slider buns (soft, fresh, or frozen, thawed before use)
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey (lean)
  • Sharp cheddar cheese (sliced or shredded)
  • Dijon mustard
  • Pickles (dill or bread and butter, sliced thin)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (extra virgin preferred)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Chopped fresh herbs (chives, parsley, or dill)
  • Pinch of garlic powder
  • Salsa or roasted red peppers
  • Cherry tomatoes (washed and halved)
  • Crunchy vegetables (carrot sticks, celery, cucumber slices)
  • Mixed salad greens
  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 pound of ground beef or turkey with salt, pepper, and a pinch of garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined. Form into 8 equal-sized patties, about 3 inches in diameter. (10 minutes)
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through (internal temperature 160Β°F). Add a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute to melt. (10 minutes)
  3. Preheat oven to 350Β°F. Place slider buns cut-side up on a baking sheet and warm for 5-7 minutes until soft and slightly toasted. (7 minutes)
  4. In a small bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, chopped fresh herbs, and a pinch of garlic powder. Stir until smooth and refrigerate until serving. (5 minutes)
  5. Rinse and slice cherry tomatoes, carrots, celery, and cucumbers. Toss salad greens lightly with lemon juice and a drizzle of olive oil. (5 minutes)
  6. Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the bottom buns, add cheesy patties, then top with a pickle slice and close with the top bun. Arrange on a serving platter. (5 minutes)
  7. Set out the creamy herb dip alongside fresh veggies and salad for guests to enjoy immediately.

Notes

Do not overmix the meat to keep patties tender. Add cheese in the last minute of cooking to melt perfectly. Chill the dip for at least 30 minutes for best flavor. Toast buns slightly to prevent sogginess. Patties can be made ahead and reheated gently in the oven wrapped in foil to retain juiciness.
