A nostalgic and festive Halloween drink that combines the sharp carbonation of orange and lemon-lime sodas with creamy orange sherbet for a refreshing, spooky treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6–8 oz cans or 2 liters Orange soda (e.g., Fanta or Sunkist)
  • 6–8 oz cans or 1 liter Lemon-lime soda (e.g., Sierra Mist or Sprite)
  • 1 liter Ginger ale (optional, for spice)
  • 1–2 quarts Orange sherbet
  • Vanilla ice cream (optional, for serving)
  • Fresh orange slices (for garnish)
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Edible glitter or orange sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Chill the orange soda and lemon-lime soda thoroughly to maintain carbonation.
  2. Slice fresh oranges into thin wheels for garnish.
  3. In a large punch bowl or dispenser, combine the orange soda and lemon-lime soda. Add ginger ale if using.
  4. Stir gently with a long spoon to combine flavors without losing carbonation.
  5. Scoop orange sherbet directly into individual glasses or mugs (1-2 scoops per glass).
  6. Pour the mixed soda over the sherbet in each glass immediately before serving.
  7. Garnish with an orange slice, whipped cream, or edible glitter.
  8. Serve immediately while the sherbet is cold and the soda is fizzy.

Notes

Do not add sherbet to the punch bowl too early, or it will melt and make the drink watery. For large gatherings, set up a ‘float station’ where guests assemble their own drinks. Keep sherbet in the coldest part of the freezer. If using a dispenser, do not fill it completely with sherbet to allow room for fizz expansion.
