These fudgy red velvet crinkle cookies are made with just 4 ingredients and no chilling required. They are dense, chewy, and covered in a snowy powdered sugar coating, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) red velvet cake mix
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil. Stir with a wooden spoon or spatula until a thick, cohesive dough forms. Do not overmix.
  3. Pour the powdered sugar into a small bowl.
  4. Scoop the dough into 1.5-tablespoon portions. Roll each portion into a smooth ball between your palms.
  5. Roll each dough ball generously in the powdered sugar, ensuring every surface is completely coated.
  6. Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes. The cookies should look set around the edges but still slightly soft and puffy in the center.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra-thick cookies, chill the dough balls for 15 minutes before baking. Use a generous coating of powdered sugar for a more dramatic crinkle effect. Do not substitute butter for oil. Cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
