A quick and easy 5-minute dessert featuring fresh strawberries layered with lightly sweetened whipped cream, perfect for summer gatherings and simple indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, chilled
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, to brighten strawberries)

Instructions

  1. Rinse strawberries gently under cold water. Hull and slice each berry in half or quarters depending on size. Toss with lemon juice if strawberries are not very sweet. Set aside.
  2. Chill mixing bowl and beaters in the fridge or freezer for about 10 minutes (optional but recommended).
  3. Pour cold heavy whipping cream into chilled bowl. Using a hand or stand mixer on medium speed, begin whipping. When cream thickens, add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Continue whipping until soft peaks form.
  4. Spoon a layer of whipped cream into the bottom of each serving cup, followed by a layer of strawberries. Repeat layers until cups are filled, ending with strawberries on top.
  5. Garnish each cup with a sprig of fresh mint. Serve immediately or chill in refrigerator for up to 1 hour.

Notes

Chilling the mixing bowl and beaters before whipping cream helps achieve perfect soft peaks quickly. Avoid overwhipping to prevent grainy texture. Prepare strawberries in advance to speed assembly. Re-whip cream if it softens before serving.
