A quick and easy peach cobbler dump cake with a crispy golden topping and juicy peaches underneath, perfect for summer gatherings and last-minute desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) sliced peaches packed in juice or light syrup (or about 4 cups fresh sliced peaches)
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Drain the canned peaches slightly. If using fresh peaches, toss them with lemon juice and vanilla extract in a bowl.
  3. Spread the peaches evenly in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg (if using) over the peaches.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the peaches without stirring.
  6. Melt the unsalted butter and pour it evenly over the cake mix layer.
  7. Bake uncovered for 45 to 50 minutes until the top is golden brown and crispy and the peach juices are bubbling.
  8. Remove from oven and let rest for at least 10 minutes before serving.
  9. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Do not stir the cake mix into the peaches to maintain a crispy topping. If the topping browns too quickly, tent with foil. Use unsalted butter melted gently to avoid browning. Drain excess peach juice to prevent sogginess. For gluten-free, use gluten-free yellow cake mix. For dairy-free, substitute butter with melted coconut oil or vegan butter.
