These easy mummy hot dogs wrapped in crescent dough are a fun and quick Halloween treat that kids and adults love. Ready in under 20 minutes, they’re perfect for parties, school events, or a spooky dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 standard-sized hot dogs
  • 1 can (8 count) crescent roll dough
  • 16–24 small candy eyes
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Mustard or ketchup for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough and separate along the perforated lines to get 8 triangles.
  3. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut each triangle lengthwise into 3-4 thin strips (about ½ inch wide).
  4. Take one hot dog and wrap a strip of dough around it, leaving a small gap near the top for the eyes. Overlap strips slightly for a mummy look, and don’t wrap too tightly.
  5. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk the egg and water together to make an egg wash. Brush the egg wash over the dough strips.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and the hot dogs are heated through.
  8. Remove from the oven and immediately press candy eyes onto the exposed hot dog at the top. The heat will help them stick.
  9. Let cool for 2-3 minutes before serving. Serve warm with mustard or ketchup for dipping, if desired.

Notes

Keep the dough cold for easier handling. Don’t over-wrap the hot dogs; leave some space between strips for a mummy look. If candy eyes don’t stick, use a tiny dab of mustard or ketchup as edible glue. For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free crescent dough.
