This easy copycat pumpkin cream cold foam iced coffee tastes like it came straight from a drive-thru window, only better and cheaper. It takes about five minutes to throw together with simple ingredients you probably already have.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee or cold brew
  • Ice cubes (enough to fill your glass)
  • 12 tablespoons vanilla syrup (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tablespoons milk or cream (optional, for a creamier coffee base)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (cold)
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk (or 2%)
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin puree (100% pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla syrup (or maple syrup)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (plus a pinch extra for garnish)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Brew and chill your coffee. If using hot-brewed coffee, let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 15 minutes. Or use cold brew straight from the fridge. Fill your serving glass with ice cubes and pour the coffee over them, leaving about an inch of space at the top for the foam.
  2. Add vanilla syrup to the coffee. Stir in 1-2 tablespoons of vanilla syrup, depending on how sweet you like it.
  3. Combine the cold foam ingredients. In a tall jar or glass, add the heavy cream, whole milk, pumpkin puree, vanilla syrup, pumpkin pie spice, and a pinch of salt. Make sure everything is cold.
  4. Froth until thick and creamy. Insert a handheld frother into the mixture, keeping it near the bottom of the jar. Turn it on and move it in a gentle up-and-down motion for about 20-30 seconds. Stop when it reaches a consistency similar to melted soft serve—thick enough to hold its shape but still pourable.
  5. Layer the foam over the coffee. Using a spoon, gently dollop the cold foam over the top of the iced coffee. Do not stir it in.
  6. Garnish and serve. Sprinkle a tiny pinch of pumpkin pie spice over the top of the foam. Serve immediately with a straw or sip straight from the glass.

Notes

Everything needs to be cold for the foam to hold its shape. Don’t over-froth—stop when it reaches soft-serve consistency. Layer the foam with a spoon instead of pouring. Use strong coffee to balance the sweetness. Strain pumpkin puree if it looks watery. Double the foam recipe for guests.
