A quick and affordable recipe for luscious chocolate-dipped strawberries, perfect for homemade gifts or last-minute treats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound (450 grams) fresh strawberries, medium to large size with stems intact
  • 6 ounces (170 grams) good-quality chocolate chips or bar (semisweet, dark, or milk chocolate)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for glossy finish and smoother melt)
  • Optional toppings: crushed nuts (pistachios or almonds), shredded coconut, colored sprinkles, sea salt flakes
  • Parchment paper (for setting dipped strawberries)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the strawberries thoroughly to ensure no water remains on the surface.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange small bowls with optional toppings nearby.
  3. Melt the chocolate and coconut oil together in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-30 second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth and glossy. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler.
  4. Hold each strawberry by the stem or use a toothpick/fork, dip into the melted chocolate coating about three-quarters of the berry, and let excess chocolate drip back into the bowl.
  5. Sprinkle toppings immediately after dipping if desired.
  6. Place dipped strawberries on the parchment-lined tray and let them set at room temperature or refrigerate to speed up setting. Avoid stacking or touching berries.

Notes

Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent chocolate from seizing. Use quality chocolate for best results. Adding coconut oil helps achieve a glossy finish and smoother coating. Work quickly as chocolate hardens fast. Chill strawberries briefly before dipping for better coating.
