Crisp apple slices topped with warm caramel, melted chocolate, crunchy toffee bits, and a sprinkle of sea salt. This quick and easy dessert comes together in about 15 minutes and is perfect for parties or a simple sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 34 medium Granny Smith apples (or other firm tart apples)
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup toffee bits (e.g., Heath bits)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1 pinch flaky sea salt
  • Optional toppings: crushed pretzels, mini chocolate chips, peanut butter drizzle, cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Core them, then slice into thin rounds about 1/4 inch thick. Lay the slices in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  2. Spoon the caramel sauce into a small microwave-safe bowl and warm for 15-20 seconds until loose enough to drizzle. Stir well.
  3. Place the chocolate chips in another small bowl and microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring after each, until smooth (about 60-90 seconds total).
  4. Drizzle the warm caramel over the apple slices in a back-and-forth motion, ensuring each slice gets some.
  5. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the apples in the same manner.
  6. Sprinkle the toffee bits evenly over the entire tray. Add chopped nuts if using.
  7. Finish with a light sprinkle of flaky sea salt.
  8. Serve immediately while the apples are crisp and the toppings are warm.

Notes

Best served immediately. Keep apples cold and dry for best texture. Do not let sit longer than 30 minutes before serving to avoid sogginess. For dairy-free, use dairy-free caramel and chocolate and omit toffee bits or find a vegan version.
