A quick and easy 5-minute snack featuring crisp apple slices dipped in warm salted caramel sauce and topped with crunchy toffee bits.

Ingredients

  • Honeycrisp apples (firm and fresh)
  • Smooth caramel sauce (e.g., Smucker’s or Heath brand)
  • Toffee bits
  • Sea salt flakes (e.g., Maldon)
  • Pretzel pieces (optional, for extra crunch)

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the apples. Remove the core and slice them into uniform wedges.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  3. Pour the caramel sauce into a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 15-second intervals, stirring until smooth and pourable. Do not overheat.
  4. Dip the bottom half of each apple slice into the warm caramel.
  5. While the caramel is still wet, immediately sprinkle toffee bits over the coated area and press gently to adhere.
  6. Place the dipped apples on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes to allow the caramel to set and become crisp.
  8. Remove from the fridge and serve immediately.

Notes

Ensure apples are completely dry before dipping to prevent caramel from sliding off. Work quickly as caramel sets fast. For best results, serve immediately or store in the fridge for up to 2 days, though toffee bits may soften over time.
