A crunchy, savory snack made with Chex cereal, nuts, and a tangy ranch herb seasoning. This easy-to-make mix stays crisp and is perfect for game day or movie nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz Chex Cereal Mix (Corn, Rice, and Wheat Chex)
  • 1/4 cup Buttermilk Powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Dried Parsley
  • 1 tsp Dried Dill
  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (Optional)
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil or Melted Butter
  • 1 cup Roasted Peanuts or Almonds
  • 1/2 cup Cheddar Cheese Crisps or Pretzels

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine Chex cereal, roasted peanuts, and pretzels/cheese crisps; toss to distribute evenly.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together buttermilk powder, garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley, dried dill, sea salt, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Drizzle vegetable oil or melted butter over the cereal mixture and toss until lightly coated.
  6. Sprinkle the dry seasoning mix over the oiled cereal and toss until evenly distributed.
  7. Divide the mixture evenly between the two prepared baking sheets, spreading it into a single layer.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes to ensure even browning.
  9. Remove from oven when golden brown and fragrant. Let cool completely on the pans (15-20 minutes) to crisp up.
  10. Transfer to an airtight container for storage.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature. Do not overcrowd the baking sheets to prevent steaming. The mix will continue to crisp as it cools. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. For a vegan version, use olive oil and ensure cereal/nuts are vegan-friendly.
