This creamy buffalo chicken ranch dip is a quick, crowd-pleasing appetizer made with cream cheese, ranch dressing, hot sauce, and shredded chicken. Ready in just 5 minutes of prep, it’s perfect for game day, parties, or a comforting snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/2 cup Frank’s RedHot Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce
  • 1 cup cooked, shredded chicken
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)
  • Tortilla chips, celery sticks, carrot chips, or crusty bread for serving
  • Sliced green onions, chopped fresh chives, or extra ranch for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese: Take cream cheese out of fridge 30 minutes before starting. If forgotten, microwave on 50% power for 15-20 seconds until soft but not melted.
  2. Mix the base: In a medium mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, ranch dressing, and Frank’s RedHot. Stir until smooth and uniform pale orange. Adjust spiciness to taste.
  3. Add chicken and cheese: Fold in shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, and mozzarella cheese until evenly distributed. If using blue cheese, fold in now or save for topping.
  4. Transfer to slow cooker: Scrape mixture into a 2-3 quart slow cooker and spread into an even layer. Cover with lid.
  5. Cook low and slow: Cook on LOW for 2-3 hours or on HIGH for 1-1.5 hours until hot all the way through and bubbly around the edges. Stir halfway through.
  6. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle with sliced green onions, extra blue cheese crumbles, or a drizzle of ranch. Serve immediately with dippers. Keep slow cooker on WARM setting.

Notes

For best results, use full-fat cream cheese and freshly shredded cheese. If dip thickens after sitting, stir in a tablespoon of milk or chicken broth. Can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 24 hours before cooking. For oven method, bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes.
