This isn’t your average fruit platter. It’s a full-on experience that brings people together with crisp apples, warm caramel, and crunchy toppings. Perfect for fall parties, it’s quick to assemble and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4–5 medium apples, mixed varieties (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, Fuji)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 bag (11 oz) soft caramel candies (Kraft or Brach’s)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanuts
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips or chopped chocolate bar
  • 1/4 cup crushed graham crackers or vanilla wafers
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut, toasted
  • 2 tablespoons rainbow sprinkles or colored sugar (optional)
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries or raisins
  • 1/2 cup mini pretzels
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter or cookie butter
  • Fresh mint sprigs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the caramel: Unwrap caramel candies and place in a small saucepan with heavy cream. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until melted and smooth (5-7 minutes). Stir in flaky sea salt if using. Pour into a small serving bowl.
  2. Slice the apples: Wash and dry apples. Cut in half, remove cores, and slice each half into 4-5 wedges. Toss with lemon juice and a splash of cold water to prevent browning. Drain excess liquid.
  3. Prepare the toppings: Toast coconut at 350°F for 3-5 minutes if desired. Chop peanuts, crush graham crackers. Place each topping in small bowls or ramekins.
  4. Assemble the board: Place warm caramel bowl in center of a large board or platter. Add peanut butter or cookie butter bowl nearby. Arrange apple slices in a fan pattern around bowls. Place topping bowls in gaps between apple slices. Scatter pretzels and dried cranberries in empty spaces. Garnish with mint sprigs.
  5. Serve: Place board on serving table with small plates and napkins. Encourage guests to dip apple slices in caramel and add toppings. Serve warm.

Notes

Keep caramel warm during serving using a small slow cooker or candle warmer. Slice apples just before serving to prevent browning. For nut-free version, skip peanuts and use sunflower seeds or extra crushed pretzels. For dairy-free, use coconut cream instead of heavy cream and dairy-free chocolate chips.
